A helpful introductory resource on different kinds of employee ownership

In brief: Project Equity. a nonprofit, and others have put together a helpful introduction to employee ownership. It’s called Employee Ownership Equals.

Why it matters: There are multiple kinds of employee ownership out there. And there is a lot of information out there about employee ownership on the internet. Not all of it is helpful.

What it covers: EO= focuses on three types of broad-based employee ownership: employee stock ownership plans, worker cooperatives, and employee ownership trusts. Notably, and in line with the Employee Ownership Expansion Network’s website, it does not include the sometimes controversial equity grants promoted by Ownership Works for use in private equity transactions.
